Overview and metadata sections
Collection of records authored by or about Caroline Katzenstein who was active in the Pennsylvania suffrage movement. Materials include a 1939 pamphlet, "The Sporting Spirit" written under Katzenstein's pseudonym Carol Stone; text of Charles Shaw's review of Katzenstein's book, Lifting the Curtain (1955), read on his WCAU-FM radio show "The World Around US;" and a 1961 statement written by Katzenstein resigning her affiliation with the National Woman's Party. Other records include two 1968 condolence letters written to Caroline's sister, Josephine upon her death; photographs; newspaper clippings including an obituary; and printed materials related to the Philadelphia Life Insurance Company, where Katzenstein sold insurance.
Donated by Maurie H. Orodenker in October 1986. Collection previously administered by the Philadelphia Jewish Archives Center, acquired by Temple in June 2009
