Overview and metadata sections

A Hanafi manuscript treatise on Islamic inheritance law (farāʾiḍ) from the Ottoman Empire, dated 1092H./1681. The colophon completed in a triangle gives the name of the calligrapher as "Aḥmad ibn Muṣṭafá" and the date as Rajab 1092 A.H. (1681 CE), with a blessing stamp and a Latin inscription in brown ink at the top.

Written in Naskh in black and red ink.

Illuminated frontispiece of a unwân surmounted polychrome and gold arches. Some rubrications. Page-frame ruled in gold or red.

European paper with trefoil and initials EB countermark.

The item is undated, likely copied in the 18th or 19th century.

Red morocco binding with marbled paper.
