Overview and metadata sections

The collection consists of approximately 220 letters, postcards, greeting cards, and telegrams written between Hirsh Segal and Ruth Levitan Segal, primarily during their courtship while Hirsh attended basic training at the Chemical Corps School at Fort McClellan, Alabama, and while stationed at the 390th/42nd Chemical Lab, Army Chemical Center in Edgewood, Maryland. Letters discuss their relationship including wedding preparations; their families; Hirsh's observance of Orthodox Judaism; Ruth's schooling; and other topics.
