The Hebrew Literature Society was founded in 1885 as a cultural center for English- and Yiddish-speaking Jewish people in Philadelphia. The Society maintained a library in its building, and held lectures and concerts.
Scrapbook of newspaper clippings from English and Yiddish language newspapers regarding a concert given by the Hebrew Literature Society at the Ansolov Auditorium in Philadelphia, featuring violinist Sascha Jacobinoff, pianist Martin Gabowitz, and soprano Madame Clara Maysels.
