Overview and metadata sections

The Bucks County Bible Society was organized in 1816, with committees in every township, to bring about general reading of the Bible. At the time of the Civil War the Society gave a copy of the Bible to every soldier leaving Bucks County, Pa.

Minute book recording the proceedings of the annual meetings of the Society held at various churches in the county. Minutes include reports of quantity of bibles distributed, sold, and of donations to the Society. Volume is largely holograph text with clippings mounted and a few pages and pamphlets inserted.
