Martin P. Klingel was a Philadelphia bookseller.

The collection contains approximately 60 letters, mainly written to Klingel. Most of the letters deal with bookselling while others concern print selling. Several letters provide bibliographical source information, such as Klingel's correspondence with the Kipling Society. Collection includes 9 letters and documents by Klingel and attorneys relating to suit by Foyle, W & G. Ltd. for outstanding debt. Other correspondents include B. Janowskzy and Richard Bishop. Correspondence concerning Rabindranth Tagore, Hindu poet and activist is included in the collection.
