Overview and metadata sections

Kensington Action Now began in 1975 with a meeting of concerned community leaders from the Kensington area. The organization was incorporated November 1, 1976 following the Founding Convention on May 16. This coalition of civic, church and business groups has been concerned with and worked on general conditions in their neighborhood. Their work on housing problems led to the incorporation of the Kensington Area Revitalization Project on May 9, 1980. This organization works on the acquisition, renovation and sale of abandoned properties.

Collection contains administrative records, newspaper clippings, correspondence, financial records, meeting minutes, photographs, project files, and other materials by and related to Kensington Action Now.
