Overview and metadata sections
Floyd R. Schneider, born in 1902, was a tax collector in Ambler and Spring House (Lower Gwynedd), Pennsylvania. His wife, Marguerite G. Schneider, was born in 1905.
This collection is comprised of documents created or collected by Floyd R. Schneider. The vast majority are business records of Floyd Schneider in his capacity as tax collector and date from 1935-1945. These include tax records of local individuals and businesses, related papers, and correspondence. There is also a small amount of Republican party ephemera, as well as voter lists and specimen ballots. Of special interest are seven volumes of tax records for Upper and Lower Gwynedd, dating from 1834 to 1907, most of which are attributed to John Jenkins.
There are also approximately 50 photographs of train crossings and bridges, 1928, labeled with location information.
Gift of Joe Schneider.
