Overview and metadata sections

The Radnor Township Memorial Day Parade Committee is responsible for planning and organizing an annual Memorial Day Parade in Wayne, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The parade honors and remembers those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The first Memorial Day parade in Radnor Township took place in 1945.

This collection contains meeting minutes, correspondence, photographs, march schedules, loose newspaper clippings, a clippings scrapbook, and other materials related to the parade. The collection is organized into two series: I. Binders, and II. Folders. Each series is roughly organized by date and consists of similar document types, although there are more handwritten notes in the folders than in the binders.

Summary descriptive information on this collection was compiled in 2012-2014 as part of a project conducted by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania to make better known and more accessible the largely hidden collections of small, primarily volunteer run repositories in the Philadelphia area. The Hidden Collections Initiative for Pennsylvania Small Archival Repositories (HCI-PSAR) was funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

This is a preliminary finding aid. No physical processing, rehousing, reorganizing, or folder listing was accomplished during the HCI-PSAR project.

In some cases, more detailed inventories or finding aids may be available on-site at the repository where this collection is held; please contact Radnor Historical Society directly for more information.
