The Montgomery Publishing Company, owned by Journal Register Company and still operational as of 2012, is a news distributor located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. Montgomery publishes local newspapers including Ambler Gazette, the Times Herald of Norristown, and the Reporter of Lansdale.
The bulk of the collection, which dates from 1960 to 1989, is made up of complaint files and legal records from various court cases involving Montgomery Publishing Company. In addition, there are subject files on topics like labor and unionization, strategic planning (circa 1970), advertisement reports, etc. There are also files on circulation numbers for newspapers under the Montgomery Publishing Company umbrella, and on newspaper conferences and professional associations such as the Pennsylvania Society of Newspaper Editors.
