F.F. Zimmerman was a photographer with a studio at 6 E. Front Street in Media, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
This collection consists of 4" by 5" film negatives of Media, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, taken in the year 1950. They are organized into three series: "Business," "Historic," and "Centennial." The photographs of buildings are labeled with business or organization name and address. They were taken for Media centennial book advertisements, Media News, and other purposes. The "Centennial" photographs capture the events of the Borough of Media's centennial anniversary celebrations in 1950. A listing of subjects is available on site.
Summary descriptive information on this collection was compiled in 2012-2014 as part of a project conducted by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania to make better known and more accessible the largely hidden collections of small, primarily volunteer run repositories in the Philadelphia area. The Hidden Collections Initiative for Pennsylvania Small Archival Repositories (HCI-PSAR) was funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
This is a preliminary finding aid. No physical processing, rehousing, reorganizing, or folder listing was accomplished during the HCI-PSAR project.
