Overview and metadata sections
All items in this collection are related to Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park, and they range from plans of notable buildings to maps of the park grounds. Items vary greatly in size, medium, and material, in addition to subject matter. The collection is especially strong in Olmstead drawings (reproductions), items related to Bellaire Manor and the American Swedish Historical Museum, and items related to the park's water features. There are no documents relating to the skatepark, and limited documents relating to the Sesquicentennial Exposition.
Items in this collection have been arranged into two series- "Buildings and their vicinity" and "Park grounds". Each series has been divided further to specify either notable locations (such as the American Swedish Historical Museum) or type of drawing (such as "utilities plans").
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park was previously called "League Island Park", so plans prior to the later 1940s when it was renamed may reference this prior name.
