Arthur H. Napier, 503 E. Willow Grove Avenue in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia had been in the Navy. He was put in charge of the Springfield Ration Distribution Center at Springfield High School.

This collection contains 42 photos, a baseball uniform, Germantown Telegraph Newspaper, ration books, yearbook from Chestnut Hill Academy 1913, picture booklet of Chestnut Hill Academy and area dated 1909, and a scrapbook from Haverford College belonging to Arthur Napier, Susan Marshall's Token Album (a book of poems written by many of her friends and relatives), bills and personal papers that belonged to the J. Frederick Heinitsh family who resided in Lancaster, PA, business papers and accounting from different firms in Philadelphia area. Also, "Old Philadelphia" book with paintings by Horace G. Schoppe, pictures and information on inns and taverns, see entries 14-19, which mentions Valley Green Inn, Mermaid Hotel, Washington Inn, Farmers & Drovers Tavern, Bonny Jockey, The White Swan.

The photographs depict: St. Martin's Railroad Station, Pennsylvania RR, St. Martins-in-the-field, St., Martin's Green, the Skating Pond, Valley Green Tea House, Cogslea Studios, Valley Green Bridge, golf links and tennis courts at Philadelphia Cricket Club, Susan Marshall, Arthur Napier, Chestnut Hill Baseball team, Germantown Telegraph (Wed, Jan 1, 1890), Germantown Avenue, Bethlehem Pike, Hugh McNally, Chestnut Hill Academy, Frederick Heinitsh. Also see photographs 1994.82-.94, which are of Chestnut Hill.

Names in the ration books include: Elizabeth M. Napier, John C. Swartley, James J. Smith, George F. Kimbel, Robert W. Dale, Frank Distel, and James Sharp. Folder also contains stamps, forms with handwritten names and addresses recorded, 2 "Gasoline Rationing Regulations," and "Sugar Purchase Certificate".

The collection also includes miscellaneous items collected by Hugh McNally, some related to World Wars I and II. There is a WW I comic book, "Hello Buddy," Charter and bylaws of the Chestnut Hill Republican Club, Chestnut Hill Community Association postcard, "Short-Wave... Radio Tours" brochure, "500 War-time Saving Secrets booklet," Water Tower Players program.
