Overview and metadata sections

Varian Associates, founded in 1948, was one of the largest manufacturers of scientific instruments and one of the first tech companies with headquarters in Silicon Valley, California. Varian Associates was founded by brothers Russel H. and Sigurd F. Varian, along with their associates William Webster Hansen and Edward Ginzton. The company originally aimed to commercialize the klystron, which was key for airborne radar as it amplified electromagnetic waves at microwave frequencies. Varian Associated saw steady growth throughout the 20th century before splitting into three companies in 1999.

This collection consists of one brochure produced by Varian Associates' Instrument Division, which advertises their E-900 EPR Data Acquisition System. The brochure includes an overview of the capabilities of the E-900 EPR system and highlights its ease of use. It also includes an overview of each of the system's components and their individual capabilities. The brochure also includes an advertisement for the E-203B Magnet Field Controller, which can be used in conjunction with the E-900 EPR Data Acquisition System.
