The Northern Indiana Normal School was founded by Henry Baker Brown in 1873 through his acquisition of the defunct Valparaiso Male and Female College. In 1900 the school was re-named Valparaiso College and later Valparaiso University.

This is a Commencement Program for the 1884 Scientific Class of the Northern Indiana Normal School. It is a doubled-sided 4.5 x 5.5 inch card. The verso of the card contains the program of the day's events.
