Overview and metadata sections

This collection consists of a small file consisting of three letters concerning items of apparel made from Du Pont Nylon fibers. These letters were clearly regarded by Du Pont as historically valuable. The oldest, from February 15, 1937 concerns stockings made from Rayon 66. The other two concern stockings made from nylon and the first commercial shirt made of nylon. Letters are from C. E. Sparks, Hazel K. Greigg, and L. A. Yerkes.

Nylon was the first commercially successful synthetic polymer and was first manufactured by Du Pont.
