Overview and metadata sections

The Technichem Company Caprolactam Final Process Report was created by Technichem Company, which was based in Wallingford, Connecticut. This report details a chemical process for caprolactam that would have removed all traces of metals from the chemical compound for a greatly improved process yield. Despite garnering the interest of several competing companies looking to potentially option the process, the process detailed in the report was never picked up, and eventually resulted in the Technichem Company ceasing operations.

The Technichem Company Caprolactam Final Process Report was donated to the Science History Institute by Phillip Pivawer in 2019.
