Overview and metadata sections

Constructed between 1939 and 1940, the DuPont plant in Seaford Delaware was a scale-up operation for the first large-scale commercial production of nylon. The plant was completed in 1940, shortly before America's entry into World War II would divert production to strategic military uses. The collection was compiled by Julius Reiver during his tenure as an engineer at DuPont (1938-1942).

This collection consists of 4 notebooks containing a mix of photographic and printed materials documenting various cost control and job improvement projects related to DuPont{u2019}s nylon plant in Seaford, Delaware between 1939 and 1940.
