Paul D. Bartlett was born in Ann Arbor, MI on August 14th, 1907. He died in Lexington, MA on October 11, 1997. He spent the bulk of his career at Harvard University (1934-1972) before retiring to a productive second career (1972-1985) as the Welch Professor of Chemistry at TCU. He was one of the pre-eminent physical-organic chemists of his day.
