The books of sample cards originally formed part of the library of Technical Laboratory of the Geigy Dyestuffs Division. They were purchased from Falcon Dyeing & Finishing LLC by Robert Baptista and donated by him to the Science History Institute (formerly the Chemical Heritage Foundation).

The collection has been arranged according to the type of material that the dyestuffs were intended for.

There are 103 volumes in the collection. Two are compilations of technical data; the rest are sample cards.

These papers were donated to the Science History Institute (formerly Chemical Heritage Foundation) by Robert Baptista.
