The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy Collection includes 26 postal covers commemorating the non-profit organization based in Pennsylvania known internationally as Pittcon. Sponsored by the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh, Pittcon is a globally attended annual conference on analytical chemistry and applied spectroscopy. Several awards are presented each year at Pittcon to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to fields in analytical chemistry. The postal covers included showcase the predominant themes, subjects, and topics covered at several Pittcon conferences from 1977 to 2004.
The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy Collection was donated to the Science History Institute (formerly the Chemical Heritage Foundation) by Foil Miller in 2006.
