Alan J. Klawans is a working artist who served for many years as the the Director of Design for the marketing division of SmithKline Beckman. He claims credit for being the co-inventor of the term "Cultural Psychiatry.".

Collection consists of advertising ephemera. It covers the full spectrum of SmithKline Beckman products that Klawans was involved in marketing. The collection includes information on Stelazine, Thorazine, Dyazide, Tagamet, Eskalith Dyrenium, Uripas and Ornex.
