Overview and metadata sections

In 1999 the Drug Concerns Working Group was accepted by the Peace and Concerns Standing Committee as a project of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. Its primary mission was to alert Friends and others to the dangers of the U.S. "War On Drugs." The DCWG grew out of a Called Meeting of Friends on the Use of Drugs, the Drug Conference Planning Committee, and a Task Group on a Quaker Response to the Drug Problem in 1997 and 1998. The Drug Concerns Working Group of Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting was formed in 1998.

Records of the Drug Concerns Working Group (DCWG) include minutes of both the DCWG of Philadelhia Yearly Meeting as well as of its predecessor, the DCWG of Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting. The files are arranged chronologically. Each folder includes a detailed inventory of the contents prepared by Gregory Barnes, Co-Clerk.
