Overview and metadata sections

Willistown Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was formed in 1827, after the Hicksite separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, out of the original Willistown Preparative Meeting. It was established as Willistown Monthly Meeting in 1939; from 1940 to 1952, Willistown Preparative Meeting continued its corporate existence as a separate meeting for business of Willistown Monthly Meeting for the purpose of naming trustees and handling other business of the Monthly Meeting.

Records of Willistown Preparative Meeting (Hicksite), 1830-1940, as follows : minutes, 1867-1934 ; women's minutes, 1870-1880 ; trustees' minutes, 1931-1940 ; account books, 1830-1832, 1884-1935 ; trustees' account book, 1914-1932 ; women's library circulation record, 1844-1858.

Deposit

Minutes of Willistown Preparative Meeting, 1935-1939, may be found with the records of Willistown Monthly Meeting. The volume which includers the former also contains the minutes of Willistown Preparative Meeting, 1939-1952; this meeting was a corporate entity which held the real property of the monthly meeting until its name was changed in 1952 to Willistown Friends Meeting.
