This is a finding aid. It is a description of archival material held at the Quaker Meeting Records at Haverford College Quaker & Special Collections and Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. Overview and metadata sections

Rancocas Preparative Meeting was established in 1776. At the time of the Hicksite Separation of 1827, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Rancocas Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was discontinued circa 1918. Rancocas Preparative Meeting (Orthodox) was discontinued circa 1925, and its members were transferred to Burlington Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). This meeting was often referred to as "Ancocas".

Records of the Rancocas Preparatory Meeting, 1720-1956, include: vital records, 1720-1956; minutes of the Hicksite men's meeting and later, of joint sessions with women, 1799-1914; Orthodox men's meeting minutes, 1856-1919; Hicksite women's minutes, 1853-1885; Orthodox women's minutes, 1839-1924; financial records, 1798-1924; miscellaneous papers, 1826-1831 and n.d.
