This is a finding aid. It is a description of archival material held at the Quaker Meeting Records at Haverford College Quaker & Special Collections and Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. Overview and metadata sections
A seasonal meeting for worship was established in 1743 by Burlington Monthly Meeting in the area of Arney's Mount for Mount Holly Friends. This meeting was known as Shreve's Mount. In 1776, a preparative meeting was established and transferred to Mount Holly Monthly Meeting later that year. The Orthodox branch of this preparative meeting was discontinued in 1827; its members were attached to Mount Holly Preparative Meeting (Orthodox). The Orthodox meeting for worship was discontinued in 1828. From 1830 to 1855, the Hicksite branch of this meeting was known as Mount or The Mount. The preparative meeting was discontinued in 1871, and its members were attached to Mount Holly Preparative Meeting (Hicksite). The meeting for worship was discontinued in 1898. By 1929, appointed meetings only were held. In 1941, a regular meeting for worship was organized at Arney's Mount by Mount Holly Friends.
Records include: minutes of the pre-Separation and Hicksite men's meeting and joint meetings, 1808-1870; minutes of the pre-Separation and Hicksite women's meeting, 1824-1847; an account book, 1797-1882; and a burial ground wall account book, 1860-1962.
Minutes for the Indulged Preparative Meeting at Arney's Mount, 1941-1946, are part of the records of Mount Holly Monthly Meeting.

Minutes of the Mount Preparative Meeting of women Friends 2.1 1mo4 1824-2mo1 1844; 2.2 8mo1 1844-10mo28 1847. Volume for 1844-1847 contains the following concluding note inscribed by Barclay White, Clerk of the men's Meeting: "After 2mo. 1850-mens and womens Preparative Meetings at the Mount were united and held as one meeting."

The wall was built 1860 & 1886. To rebuilding broken down branch in rear wall near road leading to Pemberton and relaying loose cap ...108.00. Paid by Farmers Trust Co. Acct. Trust Funds to Samuel Cooper.
