Overview and metadata sections
A meeting for worship known as West Sadsbury was first organized in this area in 1820 by Sadsbury Monthly Meeting. In 1825, the meeting was established as Bart by Caln Quarterly Meeting. A Separation did not occur in this meeting until 1830. The Orthodox meeting for worship was discontinued in 1881; its members were transferred to Sadsbury Meeting (Orthodox). Bart Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was established in 1840. In 1920, the meeting for worship at Bart was discontinued for the winter; the meeting does not, however, seem to have reappeared, and its members joined Sadsbury Monthly Meeting (Hicksite). In 1924, Caln Quarterly Meeting approved the discontinuance of the preparative meeting; this occurred in 1925.
Records include burials (Bart, Pa.), 1831-1935; chart of marked graves at Bart, 1938; Hicksite minutes of the joint sessions, 1887-1925.
