Overview and metadata sections

Abington Quarterly Meeting was established in 1786 by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting out of a division of Philadelphia Quarterly Meeting. After the Separation of 1827/1828, there were Hicksite and Orthodox branches of this quarterly meeting. The two branches reunited in 1955.

The final cash journal of the Friends Home in Norristown, which was under care of Abington Quarterly Meeting until it was closed in 1973. The volume includes a photocopy of a memo "Norristown Friends Home Funds" outlining the 1969 sale of the Home from the Incorporated Trustees to Foulkeways and outlining a new charge for the Quarter's Home Committee.
