Overview and metadata sections
Pacific Yearly Meeting grew out of the Pacific Coast Association of Friends, begun in 1931, and the College Park Association, founded in San Jose in 1889 by Joel and Hannah Bean after a schism in Iowa Yearly Meeting. The first Yearly Meeting was held in 1947. Pacific Yearly Meeting affiliated with Friends General Conference in 2019 and includes several dozen monthly meetings and worship groups, primarily in California.
The bulk of material consist of the compiled minutes and reports of Pacific Yearly Meeting's summer Annual Session and spring Representative Committee meeting, produced for distribution to constituent meetings. The collection also includes an early minute book and member list for the College Park Association of Friends, and some material from the Orange Grove Monthly Meeting's 1956 outreach regarding school integration.
