Abstract:
Records of Lafayette Avenue Friends Meeting and its predecessor, Brooklyn Preparative Meeting (Orthodox), 1861-1959. Includes: Minutes 1869-1959; Vital Records 1857-1957; Sunday School Records 1861-1921; Young Peoples Association, 1892-1897; Christian Endeavor Society 1825-1934; Ladies League, 1911-1941; Pastoral Committee 1906-1959; bulletins, 1932-59; and Correspondence and Papers 1895-1979.

Lafayette Avenue Friends Meeting was established as Brooklyn Preparative in 1869 under New York Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). The preparative meeting was laid down in 1902, according to the Uniform Discipline, and New York Monthly Meeting appointed a local business meeting for its Brooklyn Congregation. This meeting became known as Brooklyn Congregational or Lafayette Avenue Friends Meeting. This meeting was laid down in 1959.
