Abstract:

Records of Clintondale Local Business Meeting and its predecessors, Plattekill Preparative Meeting and Clintondale Preparative Meeting (Orthodox). Includes: Minutes, 1853-1874 & 1894-1936, and births & deaths, 1822-1928.

Plattekill Preparative Meeting was allowed as a worship group in 1801 and set off from Valley Preparative Meeting in 1807. In 1828 it divided into Orthodox and Hicksite branches. The Hicksite branch was laid down in 1832; the Orthodox branch continued until it changed its name to Clintondale in 1879. In 1902 it changed from a preparative to a local business meeting. In 1941 Clintondale Preparative Meeting became a monthly meeting, set off from Marlborough Monthly Meeting.
