Council for International Service; also called the Friends Council for International Service. The London Yearly Meeting of the Society of Friends empowered its Meeting for Sufferings to set up a Council for International Service; work was primarily in Europe; emphasis was on service rather than mission; merged with Friends Foreign Mission Association in 1927 to form the Friends Service Council.

The Swarthmore College Peace Collection is not the official repository for the papers of the Council for International Service.
