According to its website in 2007, the Stanley Foundation "is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, private operating foundation. Foundation programming is focused on promoting and building support for principled multilateralism in addressing international issues". It's vision is to "secure peace with freedom and justice, built on world citizenship and effective global governance".
