This vigil was a joint effort of peace organizations, including the Fellowship of Reconciliation, War Resisters' League, and Non-Violent Action Against Nuclear Weapons. The vigil took place from November 1 to December 1, 1957. Participants opposed the testing and production of nuclear weapons. The vigil was a continuous prayer and conscience action held at 1705 N St., NW; a daily vigil was also held in front of the White House, including posters, leafletting and other forms of public witness.
