Overview and metadata sections

The Order of the Golden Rule was founded in 1916 by Mrs. Vance Cheney of New York City. The Order wished to establish the principle of the Golden Rule as the controlling influence in human relationships to enable the "end of war between individual classes and interests and people". The movement received the support of many prominent clergymen and people in public life. The slogan of the Order was "America First for a World of Friends.".

The Swarthmore College Peace Collection is not the official repository for the records of this organization.
