Don Luce; Donald Sanders Luce, b. 1934 in Calais, Vermont; M.S. degree in agricultural economics at Cornell University; went to Vietnam in 1958 as one of the first few members of the International Voluntary Service program in Vietnam, where he worked continuously until his resignation in 1967 in protest to the treatment and repression of the Vietnamese by the American government; helped expose "tiger cage" form of torture; became a spokesman for international human rights.
