Overview and metadata sections

Livermore Action Group; LAG; organized ca. 1981; headquartered in Berkeley, California; the goal of the Livermore Action Group was to further the cause of global nuclear disarmament, to help demilitarize American society, and redirect economic priorities to provide a more equitable distribution of resources. The first step would be to halt the design, development and testing of all nuclear weapons, particularly first-strike weapons. Protests began and centered around the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, associated with the University of California at Berkeley.
