Greenwich Village Coalition for Peaceful Priorities; GVC; founded in 1982 as the Greenwich Village Coalition Against Nuclear Arms; changed name in Fall 1992 to Greenwich Village Coalition for Peaceful Priorities. Began as a coalition of local groups, including churches, a synagogue, and other activist groups; affiliated with SANE/Freeze, later called Peace Action; held meetings, rallies, demonstrations, legislative and letter-writing campaigns in support of the nuclear weapons freeze; members included Tim James, Anne M. Orton, Carole Abrahams, Kathy Jacobson, Lee Joseph, Maura Tobias, and Natalie Lillienstein; Greenwich Village Coalition for Peaceful Priorities ceased operation in 2009.
Includes correspondence (1982-2012), minutes of meetings, flyers and leaflets, financial information, publicity materials, reference files, 2 t-shirts, and newspapers clippings. Correspondents include Anne M. Orton.
