Global Interdependence Center; GIC; nonprofit; founded in 1976, sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania; incorporated in 1980; encourages the expansion of global dialogue and free trade in order to improve cooperation and understanding among nations, with the goal of reducing international conflicts and improving worldwide living standards.
