Overview and metadata sections

American Committee for Relief of German Children was initiated by Henry T. Allen in December 1923 and was charged solely with fund-raising. The committee worked in cooperation with the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), which undertook the task of administering post-war relief to German children without accepting funds to defray its costs. Although the Final Report of the Committee was issued in 1924, the AFSC continued their feeding program of German children beyond that year. Based in New York City.
