Alaskans for World Peace; formed around 1979? in Juneau, Alaska, to support world disarmament and the solution of international conflict through nonviolent means; worked to protect the environment; promoted peace-related legislation, draft counseling, peace information centers and workshops; conducted and encouraged nonviolent demonstrations in opposition to armaments and war-related activities; affiliated with national and international organizations for peaceful change.
