Overview and metadata sections

Rice, Edward Le Roy, 1871-

Edward Le Roy Rice was an American entrepreneur, producer of minstrel shows, and dealer in theatrical memorabilia.

Consists of correspondence, both business and personal, documents, miscellaneous material, and many newspapers and clippings regarding Rice's interests in radio, film, and theater. There is material dealing with his varied business enterprises in minstrel shows for the major radio networks and in the selling of "theatrical facts, photographs, dates, and autographs."

This is an unprocessed collection and remains in its original arrangement.

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process. Requests should be directed through the Ask Us Form.

This is an unprocessed collection. The contents list provided is a preliminary inventory.

The collection inventory was created by Michael Heist in August 2007.
