Hughes, Mary Anne

Hughes, as evidenced in these letters, was a friend of various English literary figures of the nineteenth century.

The collection contains thirty-one signed autograph letters (mostly undated) by Hughes to J. T. J. Hewlett, English author of Peter Priggins and other works. There are two additional letters by Hughes, including one to R. H. Barham, author of the Ingoldsby Legends.

Purchased from Richard M. Ford in December 2008 (AM2009-70).
