Overview and metadata sections
Frederick Crafts was a photographer active in the Boston area during the period of 1850 to the 1860s.
Consists of six ambrotype photographs and 52 tintype photographs by Crafts, a pony skin box, and a letter by Eliph Porter to Reverend Thomas Crafts. Within the series of tintype photographs there is one of Frederick Crafts, his wife, Hannah William Crafts, and his great uncle Samuel Crafts.
Gift of Ralph W. Bleiler in 2003 (AM2004-014).
For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process. Photographs nos. 1-9 are individually housed in small, custom cases; nos. 10-29 are housed together in a custom enclosure; and nos. 30-58 are housed together in a four-flap enclosure.

This series consists of six ambrotype portraits in both pinchbeck frames and union cases. All ambrotype photographs are in pinchbeck frames, unless otherwise noted.

This series consists of 52 tintype photographs, including one each of Frederick Crafts, his wife Hannah William Crafts, and his great uncle Samuel Crafts. This series is first organized into sub-series by type (pinchbeck framed, card framed, and unframed), and then alphabetically by portrait subject, with unidentified portraits located at the end of each sub-series.
This series is arranged into three subseries: Pinchbeck Framed, Card Framed, and Unframed.
