Overview and metadata sections
Lorenzo Corsini was a sixteenth-century Italian textile merchant. He controlled a family business which dealt in cloth and other textile commodities, and the importation of European goods.
The collection consists of 92 letters, addressed to Corsini in Florence, Italy, from his agents and various merchants in Bologna, Genoa, Lucca, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Parma, Pisa, Rome, Siena, and Venice. The letters contain financial and commercial information relating to Italian textile manufacture and trade. Many of the letters also contain examples of the various guild signs for Giroldi of Bologna, Strozzin of Venice, and others.
Arranged chronologically.
This collection was purchased from Julian Browning in 1998.
