Overview and metadata sections
Liliane Hasson is a French writer and translator of Cuban literature. She was born in London, but moved to France when she was two. She studied Hispanic Literature at the Sorbonne, and translated the works of such Cuban writers as Reinaldo Arenas, Virgilio Piñera, Antonio José Ponte, Guillermo Rosales, and Carlos Victoria. She has also translated the works of the Spanish writer Benito Pérez Galdós. She has written books on Cuban culture and literature, including a biographical essay on the life of Arenas. She is a professor emerita in the Département d'Études Hispaniques at the Université de Nantes.
This collection consists of correspondence between Hasson and Latin American writers and artists as well as copies of manuscripts by such Latin American authors as Reinaldo Arenas and Roberto Valero. Also includes photographs and audio recordings of interviews with Latin American writers.
Arranged in the following series and subseries:
Initial acquisition purchased from Liliane Hasson in April 1996. A later addition was purchased from Liliane Hasson in November 2010.

This series consists of Hasson's correspondence with Latin American writers and artists and the correspondence of Jorge and Margarita Camacho and the Comité Reinaldo Arenas, a group dedicated to preserving Arenas's legacy.
This series is arranged into two subseries, 1A: Correspondence of Hasson and 1B: Correspondence of Others, which are organized alphabetically by correspondent.
