The collection consists of approximately 200 letters and postcards (1950-1963) written by R. P. Hinks from various places in Greece, Italy, and France to his friend and curator of the Wallace Collection in London, R. A. Cecil.

This collection was the gift of Mrs. Caroline M. Oldridge in 1995.
