George F. Thomas was a professor of religious thought at Princeton University from 1940 till 1968.
The collection consists of selected papers of Thomas, professor of religious thought (1940-1968) at Princeton. Included are many lectures and addresses, most of which were used for his classes, dealing with such subjects as religion and education, philosophical ideas in religion and literature, the history of Christian thought, Christian ethics, and Christian ideas in poetry and literature. Also present are book reviews (1942-1969), a bound typescript of Thomas's autobiography "My Story" (1977), a small amount of correspondence, and clippings of reviews of his books.
Gift of Dorothy Thomas. Typed manuscript of "My Story" is a gift of Kevin Reid.
For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process. Requests should be directed through the Ask Us Form.
