Ayala, Francisco, 1906-2009.

Francisco Ayala, a Spanish novelist born in Granada, Spain, lived in Argentina (1939-1950) following the Spanish Civil War. In 1950, Ayala moved to Puerto Rico, where he taught at the University of Puerto Rico. Ayala also taught in the United States at Bryn Mawr, Princeton University, New York University, and Brooklyn College before returning to Spain in 1956. He died in 2009 at the age of 103.

The collection consists of three carbon copies of corrected typescripts for the novella Muertes de Perro (1958) by Ayala, the exiled author and a visiting professor of romance languages (1956-1958) at Princeton, as well as miscellaneous notes and articles primarily in Spanish.
