Overview and metadata sections

Bamford, William B. (William Brokaw), 1878-1945

A graduate of Princeton University (1900), William B. Bamford was was an architect, consulting engineer, and writer, who formed his own company in 1907. Bamford was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War I. He had a long association with the city of Belmar, N.J., and was its mayor from 1920 to 1923.

The collection consists of (1) eight notebooks containing an unpublished, autograph and typed manuscript by Bamford (Princeton Class of 1900), a civil engineer, entitled "Random Scientific Notes," in which he applies metaphysical ideas to science in an attempt to explain scientific principles from a philosophical viewpoint, and (2) some loose documents and correspondence.

Please see the descriptions for each binder for more details as to what is contained in the binder.

This collection is arranged in volume order of the binders (presumably labelled by William Bamford) with loose papers and documents following.

This collection is a gift of the Estate of William B. Bamford on August 9, 1949.
